Minister Özhaseki: 'Village houses in the earthquake zone are made of light steel'

Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Mehmet Özhaseki said, "We are building one hundred thousand village houses in the earthquake zone from light steel using advanced construction technology." said. The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change continues the construction of disaster residences and village houses in the cities affected by the February 6 earthquakes. The fact that the village houses will be made of light steel pleased the citizens affected by the disaster.

Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Mehmet Özhaseki had previously shared the prominent results and recommendations of the 'Earthquake Facts and Urban Transformation Council' with the public. Minister Özhaseki stated that the village houses were made of light steel, taking into account the recommendations in the Council, and shared a video on his official social media account expressing the satisfaction of the disaster-affected citizens that the village houses were made of steel.

"We will sleep more comfortably when it is steel"

Citizens stated that steel houses will not collapse in an earthquake and that they will sleep more comfortably in houses made of steel. Stating that houses made of light steel are more durable, citizens explained their feelings as follows: “It would be very good for us to make houses made of steel so that citizens can have their homes. New steel houses will be better and safer. Steel structures would be more beautiful for us. Since we experience earthquakes, we will sleep more comfortably when our houses are made of steel because they will not collapse.”

"We will build one hundred thousand village houses from steel"

In his statement, Minister Mehmet Özhaseki stated that they will build a total of one hundred forty three thousand two hundred seventy one village houses in the cities affected by the February 6 earthquakes, once they have completed, delivered and started their construction. Emphasizing that the earthquake-resistant houses they will build from steel will make citizens happy, Minister Mehmet Özhaseki said, “We will build one hundred thousand village houses in the earthquake zone from steel. We will build a total of one hundred forty three thousand two hundred seventy one village houses in the earthquake zone, including those we have completed and delivered and those we have started to build. The announcement of one hundred thousand village houses that we will build earthquake-resistant from light steel using advanced construction technology also made our citizens happy. Their satisfaction also became our pride. "Hopefully, we will complete our village houses, some of which will be built with stables, as soon as possible and deliver them to our disaster-affected brothers and sisters." he said.

Stating that steel house technology should be brought to Turkey, Özhaseki said, "Actually, we need to switch to this technology even in multi-storey buildings. I hope this will be a start. Because we should know that these houses we built from steel have created a very durable housing type that can withstand a 9 magnitude earthquake." " he said. Özhaseki also said that they aim to complete one hundred thousand steel village houses within 6-8 months.
